Where did all the translation grants go?
Up to last year, funding (albeit very limited) was still on offer for translations. Now I can't find any. Can anyone tell me where to look?

A probably not unusual translator's dilemma: I have an offer of publication, gained by submitting a synopsis and sample chapter, but the publisher can't foot the bill for the actual translation. I'm a full-time translator, and simply can't take the time off to do the work for free.

There used to be some limited funds on offer for translations from the EU and also from the now defunct Regional Arts Boards. Now I can find no reference to either, nor any other sources of grant aid. I live in the UK.

Any ideas, please?
