Meshugah
Naked Angels Theater Company in NYC is producing the NY premiere of a play written by Emily Mann based on the Isaac Bashevis Singer novel Meshugah. We are looking for enhancement help with this production.

Adapted by Emily Mann from a novel by Isaac Bashevis Singer, the author of Yentle, MESHUGAH is a tragic-comic portrait of lost souls after one of history's great horrors. In post-World War II New York City, a famed journalist is drawn into an irresistible love triangle with an old friend and his young mistress, as he gradually uncovers the chilling mystery of the mistress' survival of the Holocaust. A heart-rending and, at times, hysterical story, this play embraces the connection and the conflict between survival and betrayal.

Emily Mann, whose previous work includes Having Our Say: The Delaney Sisters' First Hundred Years and Execution of Justice, has created a work that spans generations. With a cast led by Company member Ned Eisenberg (The Green Bird, Hesh) and Elizabeth Marvel and directed by Loretta Greco (Lackawanna Blues) the play is scheduled for its New York premiere at the Theater Row theaters in May.

Naked Angels has been producing plays for seventeen years and this is our most ambitious season yet. Any help we can receive on group sales, enhancement money etc is needed to bring this new work to NYC audiences.

We can be contacted at: Naked Angels, 9 Desbrosses Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10013, info@nakedangels.com, 646-214-7939.
