Selected works of J. L. BORGES in Slovene
Last week the Slovene publishing house Cankarjeva založba,based in Ljubljana, presented the third and final set of translated works by J. L. Borges (including some works in collaboration).
| These include the (in)famous, controversial and highly intriguing (if difficult to read) "Un modelo para la muerte" (1946). What makes this news item especially interesting is the fact that the Slovene readers - the country has cca 2 million inhabitants in total - will be the third, maybe the fourth nation to be able to read this text in their own language (as of now, only a German and an Italian translation of it seem to exist). The set also includes Borges' poetry, making the Cankarjeva založba project one of the most comprehensive presentations of Borges' work in the world.
