Schism with Scliar?
Here is the story of the Brazilian writer Moacyr Scliar, who is sore about the way Yann Martel is getting all the prestige Life of Pi. Martel was significantly inspired by Scliar's "idea" -- sharing a lifeboat with a wild cat, after a shipreck -- as published in Max and the Cats.

What do you think of Scliar's concern? "he used that idea without consulting me or even informing me. An idea is intellectual property."
